How do I get my playlist from ripped CD songs to play for others?

I ripped songs from one of my band's CDs and made a public playlist. However, when I shared the playlist with my family they were not able to listen to the songs. I can play the songs from my Mac through the Spotify app but I suspect it's because I have the songs downloaded on this device. How canI fix this so others can access my playlist?

Local files are only available to listen to on the device the files are located on. They are not uploaded to Spotify's servers.

Ok, that's what I suspected was going on.  Is there a way to make them available to other users who don't have them as files locally?
