I am very annoyed. Spotify keeps doing this annoying "wE aDdEd" thing where it adds random songs to my playlists because they're under 15 songs. My "happy" playlist full of songs that lift my spirits up keeps getting invaded by random pop songs often from the 2000s or 2010s that don't do that. My "hurrian hymns" playlist keeps getting invaded by other ancient songs that are NOT made by hit 1400 BC band the Ancient Hurrians who wrote Hurrian Hymn No. 6. Now, you might be going to the comments to go "erm well just add more songs to your playlist until there's more than 15" that doesn't work. If I'm in a terrible mood I don't want to listen to 10000 filler songs before I get to the rare happy one and on my Hurrian Hymn playlist there are simply not enough hurrian hymns on spotify so I physically can't do that. Please add a setting to turn this off if you haven't got it already.
Hi @jsmusicthings,
Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome!
If you've got a free account and you have less than 15 songs in your playlist, Spotify will add more and this is expected behavior. You will see a message telling you that the extra songs were added by us, but they can be replaced by adding more tunes.
We're always looking for ways to improve and offer better functions in the future and we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this matter.

I am in the same situation as @jsmusicthings. Automatically adding Spotify’s choice of music with no way to stop it is simply user-hostile interface design.
And your link to “this idea” does not work for me - access denied.
Hey @Snarkfarkle,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
We've made some changes backstage and you should now be able to view the idea linked by @Ivelina. You can try refreshing the browser/tab, should you have any access issues still.
Cheers!
I have the same problem as @snarklefarkle but I have 15 songs and it’s still adding songs
I have 36 songs and you guys are still adding more songs.
It's called "sponsored playlist"... sorry, I mean "smart" playlist. Ha ha ha.
So "this idea" exists since 2021. Meaning the issue has been known for over 4 years now. So....where's the solution to it? Can't be that hard to add an option "turn that nuisance off".
Why did i bother to make playlists that are exactly 15 or 20 minutes long if spotify just storms in and destroyes all the effort. Does it only do that to annoy people into premium spotify?
Spotify has completely lost the plot when it comes to user experience. When I create a playlist, I expect to hear my songs, not random tracks Spotify decides to insert without my consent. It defeats the whole purpose of curating a personal playlist. On top of that, basic features like looping a track or listening to your playlist without interference are locked behind a paywall. It’s frustrating how Spotify has become the default just because ‘everyone uses it’ while services like Deezer or SoundCloud actually respect user choice and deliver a much better free listening experience. It’s a shame that Spotify has normalized such poor treatment of its users.
