Hi there!

Could you confirm if you see a + Spotify next to your name when you open a specific playlist? If so, you most likely have Enhance / Smart Shuffle toggled on. Both features add temporary song recommendations to the current playlist and aim to help you discover new music. You can disable them by following the steps below. Doing so removes all temporary suggestions and gets rid of the + Spotify tag.

  • To disable Enhance, tap the Enhanced button again while in Playlist view.
  • To disable Smart Shuffle, tap the Shuffle Icon while in Playlist view and either select regular Shuffle or turn it off entirely.

In case you were referring to song recommendations in general, here are a couple of ways you can improve the suggestions you get from Spotify:

1.) Exclude playlist from taste profile

You can exclude playlists you aren't interested in so that the app doesn't suggest similar content in the future:

  1. Open the playlist and tap the three dots menu (right-click if you're on desktop).
  2. Select Exclude from taste profile.

2.) Hide song / Don't play this artist

On the mobile app, you can hide songs songs you don't want the app playing by tapping the three dots menu > Hide song . You can also open the artist's profile and select Don't play this artist.

3.) Not interested

On the mobile app, you can curate the content in the Music subfeed of your Home screen. In case you find a suggestion that doesn't interest you, you can mark is as Not interested. More info on that here.

Hope this info was useful. Cheers!

I don’t want recommended songs. How do I remove them forever from my app?
Apple Music doesn’t do this. I’ll change if you don’t fix this.

Hi To All, I do find the options listed to exclude songs/ artists only AFTER I have followed an artist. The "Made for You" option of the new AI DJ does not have any of these options nor the "DJ Button below" it speaks of and has now completely polluted my playlists and made for you choices with ethnic music purely because it assumes I would like it based on what's popular in my current location. The fact that it recommended it is not the issue, The issues are the facts that  1. I have to follow an artist just to exclude them means I like the genre and thus end up encouraging other same artists choices which I don't want to hear either making it worse. 2. Can't call or interact with the AI as one is apparently supposed to be able to do, to tell it its choices are not to my liking and correct it (Currently this is NOT AI), 3. and don't have the options of "exclude from my taste profile, Not Interested", etc or "Ignore my location" or some such, for artists, songs, automatic playlists or podcasts, to ensure my listening pleasure is not polluted. 4. I run Spotify exclusively on my PC, and block it on my mobile devices as it consumes expensive data otherwise, I should not have to go to my mobile and open Spotify just so I can exclude the songs, artists I don't like incurring data costs. (..."use wifi.. and what if the environment i'm in does not allow personal mobile devices on the wifi network?") For those of you who have not tried the AI DJ Beta already, know the risks. P.S. I'm a Premium paying user as are many others. Please provide us the paying customers the tools asap to keep our listening pleasure pure, and not displeasure. and frustration. thank you.

All of a sudden Spotify started to recommend me songs that don't match my music taste AT ALL. I listen mostly to classical music and podcasts, and I'm having recommendations from Spotify such as Brazilian Funk and Podcasts that don't have anything to do with the ones I listen to (I'm from Brazil)
I wish there was a button that I could say "Please don't recommend me things like this"
Funk is the worst thing to have ever hapenned to Brazil
