I’m having the same problem after switching to a new phone; even after wiping my old phone completely.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

You can download as many as 10,000 songs on each of up to 5 different devices. If the app is saying that you've exceeded the limit, it means that you have downloads on some of your old devices. Usually when you have access to the devices, you can remove the downloads either from the Spotify app (Settings > Remove all downloads) or by clearing the app's cache and data.

On another note, we can confirm that if you don't go online at least once in 30 days on a specific device, your downloads will be removed automatically. If don't have access to your old devices anymore, you can just wait for the 30 days to pass.

More info about Offline listening you can find in this support article.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Cheers!

Thx! That’s helpful. Is there a way to check which devices are linked to my account or have downloads?

Hey @BP26,

Thanks for your reply here.

Currently, there is no place where you can see a list of devices used for storing offline content for your account. If you have access to some devices where you know you've already stored playlists for offline listening, then you can clear it from them thus freeing room for your device at hand. If you do not have access to those other devices and if they do not log in to Spotify for more than 30 days, then the offline stored data for your account will be automatically cleared from those devices. If it's the latter case, then you'd need to wait out a bit and then try again on your preferred device.

Hope this helps clarify things. Don't hesitate to give us a shout if there's anything else we can help with.
