I use blend so much that it is no longer blending

Solved!

I use blend so much that it is no longer blending

I use blend all the time when my partner and I are riding in the car together. I am usually the passenger and so I’m therefor the DJ. Because I use our blend playlist so much, now Spotify thinks his songs are my preference too.

So our blend is basically all his music now, but with both our profile bubbles next to each song. I’m listening to his music (but just in the blend setting) and he is listening to his music, blend is seeming to prioritize his music only — since Spotify is assuming we like all the same songs based on our listening patterns.

Is there a way to remove the blend listens from the overall song data that Spotify is collecting? So that my songs can circle back in the blend playlist.

Hey @Megan_shomaker,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

Since Blend playlists are based on the listening activity of the participants, if you're playing the same songs from your account, the app will take it as your own listening taste and will include those similar songs in the playlist. To avoid this from happening, you can use the Private Session feature while listening to your blend to prevent its content from affecting your taste profile.

You can also exclude the playlist from your taste profile so you don't need to activate the private session every time you're playing it. Using any of these options will eventually change the content of the blend.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
