Ignored artists are still being recommended

My Question or Issue

I have ignored a couple of artists (about a week ago), but their albums are still being recommended to me. I thought Spotify took great pride in their recommendation algorithms. I'm sure they can do better than this.

Edit: my guess is these artists bought themselves into these spots. Look what happens if I search for 'h'. These exact same two artists pop up. If these are in fact ads, it would be fair to show them as "sponsored" or something

thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community !

The "Don't play this artist" feature indeed allows user to filter through artists they do not want to listen to.

However, the artists in question will still be visible on the app, meaning you'll still be able to access their Artist page, you might still see some songs in your Discover Weekly or Daily Mix and other recommendation playlist for a some period of time until your algorithm updates (no specific time frame)

It is also important to mention that featured songs are excluded.

Meaning if your "blocked" artists is featured on another artist's track, the track will still play normally.

Hope they will fix this soon but apparently they’re more focused on star ratings for podcasts now. This app is getting worse every update
