Improve Playlist Radio

Improve Playlist Radio

I'm getting the same songs on every Radio I play. Many of these songs I don't like.

I create new lists with different styles of music to get new music, but it always returns to the same songs. It is really frustrating.

In addition, It continues to push me bands that I don't like at all and there is no way I can prevent that because most of the time the "dislike"/"don't play again" is unavailable.  I'm happy to get new music that I don't like. This is part of the discovering process.... but I don't get new music, just the same OVER and OVER again.

There is a design strategy behind these decisions that it's very hard to understand. This makes the experience profoundly frustrating.

+ 1. Every playlist radio station I start has the same songs — despite the parent playlists being vastly different artists, songs and genres.

The especially surprising thing is that on the parent playlist itself, the "Recommended songs" to add are always spot-on. But none of those appear in the radio station based on that very same playlist.

I used to be very impressed by the playlist radio feature — probably one of my favorite features — it was a great way to discover new songs and quickly create a long playlist.

Seems like something changed with the algorithm.

This is frustrating the **bleep** out of me as well. I listen to several different types of music and have a bunch playlists by genre / vibe, but now every time I click on "Go to Playlist Radio" from any of those playlists, I get the same damn songs. I could have a playlist of metal or salsa/cumbia, but still get Thundercat and Shuggie Otis. I used to use Playlist Radio to expand the scope of a playlist and discover new music related to a playlist, but now it just regurgitates all the stuff I have in my "Liked Songs."

What gives?

Hey there @pilsjart, @mzaconne and @reverendalexg,

Help’s here!

We first suggest trying a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device. This will make sure you remove any corrupted files from previous installations and refresh your Spotify account data.

Another thing worth trying is to log in with a different Spotify account (such as a friend's or a family member's one) on your device to check if it's an account-related issue. If it works with another account, follow the steps in this Spotify Answer next.

Keep us posted. We'll look out for your reply.
