It's the year 2020. PLEASE allow local files to be added from mobiles.

Getting my local files from a laptop and making them playable on my phone is a time consuming puzzle as it is, considering the files only download about 15% of the times I try this. And then you're stuck having to use the same PC every single time, otherwise your *old* local files will disappear as soon as you manage to download the new ones from another PC (I just added two new local files from my friend's laptop, and so all my old local files disappeared).

And then there's a matter of owning a laptop. I barely know anyone that uses one anymore, I haven't actually owned one myself since 2017. The desktop version of Spotify is extremely slow even on a brand new laptop, so the only reason I'd ever use it is to grab these local files, most of which are from Bandcamp. These songs can all be downloaded from Bandcamp's app and onto my phone in a matter of seconds, so it'd only make sense to be able to import them into a Spotify playlist via mobile as well. Why is this still not possible?

Hey there @juzh

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

Spotify constantly strives to improve the user experience with its features and the easiest way to achieve this is by regular app updates. That’s why we appreciate you taking the time to share your suggestion with the Community.

If you think other users might also like it, go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented 🙂

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
