Library loading issue?

Ok I'm just having some sort of loading issue with my likes playlist. So let's say for example I have a liked lady gaga song in my likes, if I scroll past that lady gaga song and turn off my phone when I turn my phone back on I get sent back to the lady gaga song instead of staying in the spot I turned my phone off on. From what I've managed to put together it looks like one part of my likes is loading up to a certain point, stopping and then it loads everything else. It's incredibly annoying when I'm scrolled much farther past that loading point and I get sent right back to that loading point. I've tried clearing my cache, logging in and then back out, deleting the app and unliking songs

Hey @Kolped,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome!

So we can get a better understanding of what exactly is happening, it'd be great if you could share some more details with us, such as:

  • Does this happen only with a specific song and did you notice if it started after something specific?
  • Are you playing a specific song when this happens?
  • Does it only happen with the Liked songs or other playlists as well?
  • Is the content downloaded for offline listening?
  • Make sure you've performed a clean reinstall with these steps and test with a different internet connection if you've not already done this.

You could also share a video with us so we can take a look. You can either attach it to your next response via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

@Ivelina Oh my gosh I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner, I didn't know someone even responded to this and I thought I'd get a notification of that happening much earlier.

1. It happens with any songs in my likes, It really did just start happening one day for a reason I can't figure out

2. It's not any specific song that I play where it'll send me back, I can choose any song in my likes and if it's not above that cut off point then I get sent straight back

3. I'll be honest I have no idea if it happens with any of my playlists, I rarely ever actually use my playlists unless I'm in a very specific scenario and they're never really big enough for me to notice myself being sent back up to a specific point if it was happening. But from the times I have used my playlists I haven't noticed it sending me back anywhere.

4. No it's not, while I do download songs I'm rarely ever in a situation where I don't have some sort of service so I really don't use any of my downloaded content.

5. I just performed a clean reinstall, I just hope I did it correctly and followed the steps properly. I haven't noticed a difference yet but thats because I haven't actually checked yet.

I'm definitely going to wait and watch over my Spotify now that I've done the clean reinstall and pray that that will have perma fixed my issue. I really am sorry again for not getting back to you sooner.  Update: after about a day it's still not working normally, it's gone right back to sending me back to that cut-off spot even after the reinstall. Very unfortunate

Hey @Kolped,

No worries at all and thanks for the detailed response!

I can see you mentioned that the clean reinstall didn't resolve the issue for you, so I took a closer look and was able to find this thread, which seems very similar to what you're experiencing. As it was confirmed there, this was reported to our tech folks and it looks like it's expected behavior.

At Spotify, we’re always looking for opportunities to enhance the listening experience for both users and creators. We routinely conduct a number of tests, and some of them may ultimately end up paving the way for our broader user experience. We don’t have any further news to share at this time, but we really appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot this on your end and replying to us here!

Take care.
