Hey Spotify Support,

 

I’m having a weird issue with my “Liked Songs.” It seems like the list is stuck—no matter what I do, I can’t add or remove songs. The like button still works normally on individual tracks, but when I try to update my “Liked Songs” playlist, nothing changes. I’ve tried a few things on my end, but the problem persists.

 

Could you take a look into this? Any help would be awesome!

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

 

Just to confirm, does this happen on both your phone and with the computer app? How about when using the Web Player?

 

Outside of the Now Playing View (where the + usually appears), tracks can also be added & removed using the 3 dot menu. Could you double-check if things behave the same way when you press the Like button (+), as when you try adding/removing songs from the menu? 

 

The 3 dots will appear on the right-hand side, next to each track when you open a playlist. Try to select Remove from your Liked songs or Save to your Liked Songs there. On desktop, you can also reach this menu by right-clicking the song title.

 

Should this behavior persist, can you send us some more details on what happens when you try to change the Liked Songs content? For example, are you seeing any error messages, does the green checkmark next to the song not appear, etc.

Hey there,

Thanks for your response! I tested it on the web browser, and it works fine there, but the issue persists on both my phone and desktop app. I've already tried clearing the cache and reinstalling the app on both devices, but it didn’t help.

When I try to like/unlike a song, there’s no error message, but the change doesn’t seem to register properly. The green checkmark doesn’t appear (or disappears immediately after clicking).

As mentioned by @Maria above, the songs can also be added and removed by using the three-dot menu that you can find next to each track. Would you mind double-checking if you could add/remove songs using the three-dot menu on both your computer and mobile device?

 

On another note, and just to confirm, do you use a VPN service? If yes, try switching it off. Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior.
 

Lastly, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The exact OS you're running on the affected devices.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Does this happen if you open a different account on the affected devices? You can create a free account for testing purposes to see how it goes.
