My Question or Issue
Some of my Liked Songs are showing up as liked on the Artist Profile, but not in album view or now playing.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey there @daftestpunk,
Thanks for the post.
A possible cause for this could be that the older songs were at one point removed from Spotify's catalogue and later re-uploaded. When this happens, sometime a different release of the track is uploaded with different metadata, so the app treats them like different songs.
A way to check if this is the case is by checking the tracks URI. You can do this on Desktop. First select the one in your Liked Songs Right click > Share > hold the Ctrl key > click copy Spotify URI, after that do the same on the song in the album and check if the two URI codes are the same. If they aren't this is what's causing this inconsistency.
Keep us posted on how you get on.
Here are screenshots. Any help much appreciated!
Hi @daftestpunk!
Check if the song that's already in your Liked Songs is from the same album (as it may have been released as a single, for example). You can do that by right-clicking on the track > Go to album. If it's the same one, try liking it from the album as well to see if that does the trick.
It's worth logging out and signing back in twice in a row as this triggers an internal refresh of the app that may also help here.
Let us know how it goes. Cheers!
Hey Yordan,
I confirmed that the song was from the same release. I then liked it in the album view, and now it's liked twice in the artist profile.
Hey @daftestpunk,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Would you mind sending us the URIs of the songs that appear twice in the artist profile? We'll take a closer look.
We'll be on the lookout.
Hey Eni,
This is the URI: spotify:track:1HBXXiiegRl0TpzgikBBTP
Note: this isn't just an issue with this song. It's an issue with a bunch of my liked songs across different artists.
Thanks!
Hey @daftestpunk,
Thanks for your reply.
We've tried to reproduce the issue on our end but were unable to do so. To narrow down the possible cause, can you please let us know if this behavior is consistent across different devices and platforms? Also, would it be possible to ask a friend to log in on your device and check liking those songs produces the same result?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Take care,
OK so I think I have a better understanding of what's going on. It seems like any song that was liked before a certain date isn't syncing to the album or now playing screens––even though they show up on the artist profile. All the songs that I'm having this issue with were liked ages ago. Note: If I like songs now, everything works well. Any thoughts?

That's it! So from here, should I unlike the original and like the new version to sync everything?
Hey @daftestpunk,
At least for now - yes, as there is no automatic way for us to change all of them for you 🙂
We're happy to see that we've found where the issue lies though & we'll keep the information in mind!
Many thanks & cheers!
