Liked songs playlist playing songs that were not liked

Liked songs playlist playing songs that were not liked

This is on the web app (long story). As you can see, it's the standard shuffle, so it should only queue songs that are part of the playlist. This being the liked songs playlist, only liked songs should appear, which sometimes isn't the case for some reason.

Hey @Darth_GTB,

It looks to me that you're using the free tier of Spotify, which doesn't include playing on demand and will also play song recommendations to you.
If you wish to play only what's in your account, try using the desktop app instead! Playing on demand is enabled there even on the free tier 🙂

Hope this helps!

Hello, @Vasily

Ok, so I'll contextualize on the reason why I'm using the web version. This is on mobile, BTW. Not desktop.

My issue right now with the app is that Smart Shuffle is forced in the app's free version in my country. It would be fine if the recommendations had anything to do with the playlist but every single recommendation added by Smart Shuffle is from a genre I do not listen to and had never listened to in Spotify. Every single one of them. I even spent time checking every song played for half an hour to see if any recommendation was actually relevant and none of them were relevant. This seems to be a relatively recent change, though. I've been using the web version on desktop for a long time before Smart Shuffle started being used as the only option on the app. So, since this didn't affect the web version, I started using the web version on mobile too. Saved the few hairs that are still plugged to my scalp.

If this sneaky recommendation is coming from it being the free version, even it being the standard shuffle, I'm alright with it. These suggestions aren't terrible. Smart Shuffle on the other hand is broken and should be fixed. I'm not going back to the app until you remove it from the free tier. This recommendation on the standard shuffle actually seem to have taken previous songs into account, so I'll keep using it even with this intentional bug.
