My Question or Issue

So I've been using local file sync for quite awhile now (at least a year, I think 2 or more).I use logic to make music so I bounce my projects to mp3, then add them to a playlist through the "local files" folder on my Macbook. Once they're in these playlists, I open Spotify on my phone, navigate to the playlist and make sure the files are synced and it's been working perfect for a long time now. All of a sudden a few days ago any file I have synced is only playable for about 30 seconds, then the file shows it's downloaded, but won't play. Then a little while later, they stop showing as downloaded.

The only local files I sync are music I got from a musician through his patreon, and my own personal projects. I have tried every possible solution looking through these forums the last few days and I have no idea what else to do. I really really don't want to start having to download all the songs to my phone and reorganize them after this working for years.

Hey @bobs14,

Note that the local files sync process is undergoing development, and a more reliable experience would be to upload the same files on your phone, instead of downloading the playlist. Still, here is something you can try out:

  1. Make sure your Macbook is discoverable on your network by checking your network settings.
  2. Remove all downloads > reboot your device > download the playlist again.

You can also create a hotspot from your phone and connect your Macbook to it, then repeat the process again. Make sure also that Spotify is excluded from any cache-clearing and battery optimizing apps, as they might be corrupting your downloads.

Hope this helps. The Community is always here if there's something else we can assist with.

Take care 🙂

I've done all of that already. Even with the files on my device, not all of
them are playable in Spotify from a playlist, only in the "local files"
section.
