Lost "added by" information in public playlist

Solved!

Lost "added by" information in public playlist

I changed my public playlist to private, then went back to public and lost the "added by" column. It seems that all the collaborations data in my playlist got lost after changing the playlist from public to private.

Hey @vacodoceo,

Thanks for your reply.

That's correct. Due to privacy concerns you can currently only add specific users as playlist collaborators.

Hi there @vacodoceo,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out! Apologies for the late reply, I just came by your post.

Sounds like you're using the desktop app, correct? The playlist's privacy shouldn't affect the Added by column.

I think that it's currently missing on your end since there is a limited amount of space in the app. Try reducing the size of the Your Library sidebar as well as of your Now Playing View / Friend Activity to see if that makes the column show up. It's also worth resetting the app's zoom from the three dots menu at the top left corner > View > Reset Zoom.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

 Hi Yordan,

Thanks for the response. I checked on my iOS application and "added by" is displayed correctly for each song, but I can't make it work in my macOS or windows application. I tried what you said, and also tried selecting the "added by" column sort, but it isn't available (screenshot attached).

Hey again @vacodoceo,

Thanks for the reply!

The Added by column isn't located in the dropdown menu, but you should be able to find it just below it.

There is enough space on the screen so the "Added by" column is visible. There is enough space on the screen so the "Added by" column is visible.

Note that if the column will disappear if there isn't enough space for it on the screen. This may occur if:

  • Your Library is too wide, and the Now Playing View or the Friend Activity is active. Try reducing their sizes to see if it helps.
  • you have zoomed in on the app. Try zooming out with Ctrl + - or reset the zoom with Ctrl + 0.
  • you're running the app in windowed mode and the size of the window is small. Try increasing the size of the window.

The column is now missing since there isn't enough space on the screen. The column is now missing since there isn't enough space on the screen.

In case the issue persists, please share a screenshot (or a screen recording) which captures you full screen so I can get a clear view of how things look on your end.

Cheers!

Thanks again Yordan. I still can't get the "added by" column. I attached a photo of a wide-enough spotify screen of my playlist.

Hey @vacodoceo,

Thank you for the screenshot!
By the looks of it however, the playlist that is open is no longer a Collaborative one.
As such, the column you are looking for will not be visible.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

Thanks for the reply @vasil

How can I make it collaborative? There is no option for that when clicking the 3 dots.

Hi @vacodoceo,

You can click on Invite collaborators from the three dots menu: this will copy the playlist's link to the clipboard which you can then share it with your friends. When they open the link they will join the playlist and will be able to add and remove songs. More info in this article.

Cheers!

Thanks! I shared the link with a friend and it worked.

I'd like to make it publicly collaborative though. I remember it was possible before, but it seems that it isn't now. Is it?
