My Question or Issue

I've tried to find out if this is possible on my own but I was wondering if there was a way to manually redirect Spotify to use the proper file for a song on a playlist. A friend shared a playlist with me that had some local files on it, so they also shared a google drive folder with me that I downloaded and put into the folder I use for my local files. It properly detected some of the songs, but wasn't able to properly detect 4 out of the 22 files. Obviously, the files I have are for some reason not identical to the ones that were originally put into the playlist and I was wondering if there was a way, either in the application or through the program files, to "relocate" the local file the way you can when you relocate a program for a shortcut on your desktop. It'd also be nice to be able to do this for my own files, since I will sometimes replace files with higher quality versions and I don't want to have to manually replace them on all my playlists. Thanks!

Hey there @ariesinattentiv

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

We're afraid it isn't possible, since local files needs to be manually synced on the app if the files in the playlist they shared with you aren't the same that you have in your computer.
