Move a single track from an established playlist on top of that playlist

Move a single track from an established playlist on top of that playlist

Hi, I have a suggestion about an option to add to the spotify app (client: windows and mobile).
So im using spotify a lot and have different playlists with hundreds of songs. And that particular suggestion came in to my mind very often, but I never oppened a ticket, but now is the time...
I often want to rearrange my playlists and put the current song on top of that playlist that im currently listening, but there is no option when I rightclick that song.
Can you please please add this option, thank you!

Hey @Parad0X8

Good idea! You should post it in the Idea Submissions forum and it may be considered for future versions of the app.

Just be sure to check out if the idea is already there. If it's not, submit it after reading the idea submission guidelines. 🙂

Thank you, I will do that

Hey, unfortunately there is already a suggestion about that option, but from 2019... seems the devs dont want to implement that function...

I use a power hack (Desktop version) to achieve what you want, which has worked for me since then:

1. Select all tracks you want to reposition with Ctrl + click or Shift + click

2. Scroll to top of the playlist, Ctrl + click a "marker" track you want all the selected tracks to be repositioned directly under***

3. Now click and drag the marker track then immediately release it in the same position

4. All the other selected tracks will now be repositioned directly under that track!

5. Bonus: Ctrl + Z to undo the move

***actually, the other selected tracks will be moved to the marker track relative to where they were in the playlist, so if they were originally somewhere higher than the marker, they will stack directly above, somewhere lower will be stacked directly under.

Hope it helps. 🙂
