New Premium account missing features/different UI [PC APP]

New Premium account missing features/different UI [PC APP]

[Edit] What I think is happening is that the new account is signing into the vastly inferior web player interface, even through the PC app. When I sign into my old account through the web player, the interface matches what I'm getting on the new account. How to I access the PC interface for my new account through the PC app?

 

Using PC app on windows. Had a free account, created a new premium account. I know it is premium, because there is no longer an option to upgrade.

 

The interface on this account is different, and is missing important features from my other account, which I can still access by signing onto that account.  Missing features include: Ability to multi select songs in playlists I created, sorting columns, ability to edit playlist details (theres no longer a button to do this), friends list, ability to drag and drop upcoming songs in playlist queue.

 

Already tried: Restarting app, uninstalling/reinstalling app, restarting computer. Any help would be appreciated, this is super frustrating.

I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me insane. Let me know if you figure anything out.

Thanks for posting about this here in the Community!

 

It indeed sounds like a new experience we're testing in the desktop app. We've shared some updates about this here.

 

This new update is missing several features that used to be available on the desktop app, which we understand is not ideal. 

 

However as we've mentioned in the thread above, in the upcoming weeks, you'll continue to notice changes to the Desktop client - try restarting or logging out periodically to see these changes.

 

For now, we'd suggest adding your +VOTE and feedback to these ideas in as they help us get a good impression of what the Community is experiencing:

Hi,

It's not cool to use your paid customers as beta testers with dumbed down version of the player!

And what is a new experience if you remove features.. not ideal... well you can just say worse experience, for the majority of the people..

edit: And no way to opt out of the "test" is just.. REALLY BAD especially when I decide to pay for these services.. to be a beta tester? Lol...

Another thing,. you are skewing the answers from the public, simply because it takes an effort in our busy lives to come to spotify community to voice our concerns as customers becase you remove features.. most people will be just **bleep**.. if you want more true feedback you should include questions in the app itself.. voting for features in there.

Yea im facing this issue too. My bro's account has features that mine doesnt have.

Why am i still paying for the stupid premium when its 2 different kind of services provided?
