My Question or Issue
I was blocking accounts to make Spotify a more pleasant experience for me (as any experienced social media user does) & I came across 2 accounts that Daniel Ek (CEO) follows that cannot be blocked for some reason.
(I am on the windows app. I can block literally every other account I try including Daniel Ek).
Can anyone tell me who/what these accounts are and why they are unblockable?
& why they have playlists? This seems like Spotify pushing an agenda almost through playlists created internally.
The fact that the CEO follows them, they are unblockable and they have numerous playlists is really shady to me.
It would be nice if this kind of thing was explained to the users and the app itself didn't feel so hostile to us. I really don't want to use the app at all until I know what these accounts are. Music to me represents freedom and peace and joy. This app is feeling more and more oppressive.
The fact that Daniel Ek (Spotify CEO) follows these accounts makes it seem like they are not the "typical" bots.
Also, it would be nice to have a list of blocked accounts or some evidence that the feature actually works at all.
Is there an adminpl#3?
This seems like Spotify using "bot" tactics to artificially amplify and distribute artists/songs/playlists.
Hey @Spot1FiIsBroken,
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
Could you send us the links/ URI's to these two profiles in question. We'll check this on our end.

Alright. I get the feeling that no one here cares at all but I do have an update.
I looked through some of the playlists of these unblockable "admin" accounts who Daniel Ek follows and there is some playlists/songs that I find insulting to my very soul.
Example: playlist title: "Gangsta". Some songs in there include: "**bleep** 2001", "Straight Killer", "**bleep** You", "Dumpin' Em in Ditches".
Just to name a few. Why can't I hide this disgusting stuff completely by blocking these unknown mystery sketchy accounts?
This is endlessly frustrating.
Just letting everyone here know.
Basically screaming into the void at this point.
This company literally promotes playlists that promote murder that you can't block.
