Playlist get priviated even though I didn't private them

Playlist get priviated even though I didn't private them

Friend of mine sent a playlist to listen to and has it unprivate on her account. Though when I try to listen to it the app says it's private for me and will not let her unprivate it for me to listen to.

Hey @Cannibal_Comass,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, for starters, we'd suggest you to recommend your friend double-check if the playlist is set as public/private. To do it, they just have to select the playlist> three dot menu> make public. Once they've done that, they can share the playlist with you again to see if you notice any difference.

If that doesn't do the trick, it'd be awesome if you're friend could share the link to the playlist with you by using another means. You can share to social or messaging apps, by copying a link or with a Spotify code. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, you can try to open the playlist from a different device to see if you notice any difference.

We've tried everything, every code, different texting platforms. Making the playlist private and unprivate. Tried it on my laptop, in browser, through the desktop app, on my phone. All of it and it says the playlist was deleted or that it's empty even though she can see it clear as day in her library. As well as made a copy and the copy had the same exact problem.

Hey @Cannibal_Comass,

Thanks for your reply and for the detailed info shared.

In this case, the best way to go would be to recommend your friend to check their email address to see if they received any notification regarding this behavior and the playlist. If they have, they can check the email message to get more info about it.

They also can contact our Customer Support team, so they can help them to check their account more thoroughly. They can find out how to contact them here.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.
