My Question or Issue

Hello everyone,

I experienced a very annoying behavior of Spotify app (both Windows and Android) regarding the playlist.

I have a "My Favourites" playlist which contains app. 800 songs. After adding another songs to the playlist (manually or by using Shazam) I noticed that when I click on the playlist title, it starts playing not from the 1 song but from song number 90.

This is really annoying as I everytime needs to click on the first song to start playlist from the beginning.

This only happening on this one playlist, the rest is behaving fine.

See a video describing the problem here: https://www.loom.com/share/64f74fa7fdc74bad95a5fbfd9b296ee1

Thanks in advance for your help,

Best,

Pawel

Hey @1181262894,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

From your video I can see that your My Fav playlist is sorted by Date Added. Maybe that has something to do with this. Could you try turning off the sorting and check if the same thing is happening.

Also, does it always start at number 90?

Keep me posted on how you get on, I'll do my best so we can get to the bottom of this.

Cheers.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply.

Yep, definetely Date Added is the problem here, when I turn this off the Custom order is enabled and song no. 90 is becoming song no. 1 in the list.

But this didn't solve the problem actually - how can I force Spotify to play songs in Date Added order?

Many thanks for your help,

Pawel

Hi @1181262894!

The big green Play button causes the playlist to play in the current sorting order set by you, so if you've sorted the tracks by Date Added (descending order - recently added tracks appear on top), the newest tracks will play first. Starting the playlist by double-clicking on it from the menu on the left always launches the playlist in its default sorting order, which is by date added (ascending).

Hope this clears things up. Cheers!
