My Question or Issue

Today, I opened the Spotify app on my laptop to find that two new playlists had been added to my list of playlists, neither of which I recognize. The weird thing is that both playlists say that they were created by me, although I definitely did not create either of them; one was made at 4 am this morning (09/07/2020), and another at 7 am. I changed my Spotify password after this, but I was wondering, is there anything else I should do? Does this happen normally? Does anyone know why this would happen?

Thank you so much for your assistance 🙂

Hi @MusicListener21,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

Spotify’s platform is totally secure, however sometimes breaches on other services mean that someone else may log into your Spotify account, which may explain how these two playlists were created from your account.

If you think that someone has gained access to your Spotify account, I highly recommend following all the steps provided in this support article, as well as reading this support article regarding how to protect your Spotify account as well.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a good day!
