Playlists greyed out after installing Spotify on a new pc

Playlists greyed out after installing Spotify on a new pc

After acquiring a new pc I installed Spotify and logged in with my existing account. Lo and behold, all playlists are still there, but many of them are suddenly partly or wholly greyed out. On the old computer these playlists work normally.

I tried logging in and out, deleting the cache, but the problem persists. I know I can add the songs to the playlists again, but we're talking hundreds of songs here.

What can I do? Many thanks!

Hi there @harlequin2011!

Sounds like you had a lot of local files in your playlists. These files are stored locally on the device (in your case, your old PC) and are only available on that particular device.

If you have backed up your local files to the new PC, you can try adding them by selecting a new source folder in the app's Settings. In case the files still aren't recognized by the app, you'll have to manually replace them.

More info on local files here.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!
