Playlists not showing up even when set to "Public

Playlists not showing up even when set to "Public

I have a premium account and I just started having this issue... 

(I'm using the desktop version of Spotify on my MacBook Air)

I make a playlist, add songs and a cover if needed then set it to playlist. But, it doesn't show up on my profile and other people can't see it too.  I tried this with my other account and I had the same problem too. I also tried setting the playlist public on my phone and it shows up there but not on my desktop version. What's going on and how can I solve this? I'm someone who loves making playlists for others so this is quite annoying 😞

 

Update: I tried doing it on the Web player and it worked but it still didn't show up on my desktop version.

I have a public playlist. On my phone it shows all 45 songs I've added. On the desktop app, and web, it shows only 6 songs.

 

When I share the playlist with others, they can only see the 6 songs.

 

What's going on?

That reply isn't a solution. I'm seeing this, too.

 

I have 31 playlists, most of which are marked public. But my profile only lists 3 of them under "Public Playlists". I tried toggling between private and public on one of the missing playlists, and it had no effect. I don't see anything I could do to remedy this.

I'm having a problem where on my account details or whatever it says I have 8 public playlists but when I go on a separate account and go to my profile only the first 4 I made show. The other 4 act like they don't exist. Even when I sent the link to my newest one to someone all they got was. "This playlist isn't available". So idk what's going on, I use a Chromebook for it and I removed and added it to my profile just to double check but it's still not working.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Keep in mind that there are 2 different ways to set your playlist visibility - by making playlists public or private, and by managing public playlists published to your Spotify profile.

You can change the privacy settings for your playlist at any time by clicking the 3 dots > Make private/Make public. When you make a playlist private, nobody can access it, even if they have a link to it or search for it by name.

For the playlists to also be visible to other users who visits your profile, you'll also need to add it to your profile. You can do so by clicking the 3 dots > Add to profile. Note that only public playlists can be published to your Spotify profile.

If you've made sure that all those setting are correct and you still have this issue, we recommend clearing stored cache on your device(s), and signing out from the app & back in again once it's done. Completing these steps should resync you account info.

Should the issue persist after double-checking this, however, it would be great if you could let us know the following:

  • Make and model of your device(s).
  • OS version.
  • App version.
  • Screenshots of the settings, compared to how it appears on your profile.

i also have the same problem in my pc, after making the playlist public, i clicked the "add to profile" and the playlist i just created and made public is not in my profile. I checked the spotify app on my phone and i can see the playlist i made public in my profile, just cant see it on my pc. hope someone can help me, thank you.

Try resetting the app data + restarting: this will rule out any potential issues with corrupted cache that may have occurred. You can do this from the three dots menu at the top left corner > Help > Troubleshooting. It's also worth performing a clean reinstall of Spotify to ensure you're running the latest version available.

i was wondering why none of my playlist will show and i only have 7 i showed my first on but as soon as i made a second it didnt show ether

My playlist is already public but when my friends search up my profile or my playlist which is public it dosent show up

I mean like my profile shows up but it shows that i have no playlist

Thanks for your reply here and for the screenshot you kindly sent us.

 

From what we can see, you're using the web player, so it's expected not to see the option there. Keep in mind the options to make a playlist public/private can be found in the desktop app.

 

When using the desktop app, these are the options you can find in the three-dot menu:

 

It's possible to see this option in the mobile phone app as well. It looks like this: 

 

You can read more about Playlist privacy settings in this article. If perhaps you're encountering issues with finding these options, then please send us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there.

my playlists are set to public but are not showing up on my profile how I fix this? I only have 2 public playlists actually showing on my profile. I've tried to make it private and then public again but it still will not show on my profile. Spotify please fix this problem.

I already activated the “publish my new playlists on my profile” and it still published private playlists by default

Having a similar issue where the option to make playlists public fully isn't appearing in the drop-down menu.
