My Question or Issue

Local songs spontaneously greying out

My local files are acting up. I've had them all added and downloaded for a long time. For some odd reason, random files spontaneously get greyed out and it's got to the point where 75% of the songs in my local files weren't even playable. I added them in a new folder and even downloaded deleted the files and redownloaded them. To add to this I uninstalled Spotify and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to work sadly. The thing is it's greying out random songs. When I redownloaded some songs were working that weren't before and others weren't... at the beginning when I originally started using local everything worked. So that means the songs are being greyed out by random. What could have gone wrong?

This is getting very annoying and frustrating. I'm desperate for a solution. I love Spotify but if anyone cannot provide me with any fixes to this I may decide to stop using Spotify and move to apple music. I love Spotify however, local files are essential for me.This is getting very annoying and frustrating. I'm desperate for a solution. Hi there @AfroZilla,

Thank you for your post here in the Community. We're happy to help.

Can you confirm that you followed the steps that's provided in this article? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app, so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest it since the steps will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

Also, do you get this behavior on every device you've had you local files on or just one specific?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!
