And how should I proceed?
First cancel my individual premium account and then take my wife's invitation to the duo plan?
Or first do I accept my wife's invitation to then cancel my individual premium account?

No need to cancel since switching to a Premium Duo member account automatically ends your previous Premium Individual subscription.
