My Question or Issue

My Spotify Premium was recently updated on 20/11/2020, and I tried to transfer some local files in .mp3 format across from my PC to add to my playlists, download them and sync them to my iPhone. However, the 'Local Files' tab normally at the top left of the main menu, underneath 'Search' and 'Your Library' appears to be missing, so I cannot see view any of the local files. I have tried closing and reinstalling Spotify,  and in the Settings, I have selected 'Local Files' to show songs from the folders I normally source them from (although after the update this was initially greyed out without me knowing). I have even tried to view my local files under my profile next to playlists, albums, artists but could not see them there either. Could somebody show me how to view my local files in the new desktop update please?

Hi @mharpham98,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community. We're happy to shed some light on the situation.

Can you head over to this thread to see if that's the new desktop design that you got with the latest update? If so, you should be able to find the Local Files in the Playlists tab when you click on Your Library in the main menu on the left - they should be right next to your Liked Songs as can bee seen on the image in the thread linked above.

In case that's not what the app looks like on your end, it'd be great if you could send over some screenshots so we can take a closer look.

Note, that if the local files that don't show up in the desktop app have special characters in their name, it's likely to be related to this ongoing issue - in which case we suggest subscribing to that thread so that you'll be notified as soon as it gets resolved.

Hope this helps! Let us know how you get on.
