Spotify Playlist recommended songs UI working poorly

Spotify Playlist recommended songs UI working poorly

My Question or Issue

-I wanted to give feedback on the 'Recommended' feature. If I open one of my playlists, at the bottom of the playlist there are a series of recommended songs that I can add to the playlist. I think this is a great feature.

However the UI is sooooooooo bad. I don't know how folks made it this bad.

There is an 'add' button, which reasonably adds the recommended song to the playlist. But if you click ANYWHERE else, it also adds the song to the playlist. This is horribly frustrating. Especially near the play button. Apparently if you click the album art, you can play the song before you add the song to your playlist. Awesome, great reasonable feature. However it is totally unreliable. 10% of the time it will play, 20% of the time it won't do anything, 70% of the time it will add the song to the playlist.

Anyways this might seem trivial, but I genuinely like the product (Spotify) and the feature (recommending songs). But small things like this make me hate the product.

Hey there @augwalts,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community! We appreciate your feedback about Recommended, as this helps us improve the app and its features.

A few of the things you're describing doesn't sound completely expected, however, so we'd like to look into this a bit further.

To make sure we cover all bases, could you try clearing saved cache from the app to see if it makes any difference? Once it's done, you need to log out from the app and back in again twice in a row. As odd as this may sound, completing these steps should resync your account info 🙂

Alternatively, you can try a clean reinstall. Not only will this clear cache, but it will also ensure that you're running the latest app version.

Should this behavior still persist, it would be great if you could send us a video showing how things look from your end. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Also, do you experience the same thing when using the Web Player on your Mac?

Let us know how you get on!
