Spotify Thinks I'm Offline Unless Connected to a VPN

My Question or Issue

I connected to the US via VPN for privacy reasons, but I am from the US and my account is linked to the US. I have never signed in from another country, VPN or not. After doing this, my Spotify will only allow me to be "online" when I am connected to said VPN in the US. If I disconnect, I go offline and can't do anything. I get a firewall error when trying to login without the VPN, and have heard that updating your country can fix this, but I have no such update to make.

Could you start by logging out > restarting your computer > logging back in?

If it still doesn't show you as online, it's a good idea to restart your router.

Lastly, we can recommend trying a clean reinstall with the steps here. Then make sure you download the app from the Windows store.
