My Question or Issue

Hi, I recently noticed, that many of my local files can't be played in Spotify. It used to work in the past and I'm not sure when this problem occured.

 

Around 10-30% of my songs (local files) can't be played with Spotify. These are always the same songs. The songs that can't be played have this code "1193046:28:15". The code appears where the duration of the songs should be.

 

I have tried several things like:

  • Run spotify as admin
  • Reinstall
  • Reinstall from Microsoft Store
  • Log out
  • Changing Windows Sound settings
  • Moving my songs to a different folder
  • Turning off Hardware acceleration

and I probably forgot a few other things I tried. None of the things helped obviously.

 

Not sure what else to do.

Great troubleshooting so far, there are other things we can check here.

 

To start, we'd like to know if you get any error message besides the code 1193046:28:15


Also, we understand you already reinstalled the app. Please try it one more time following these steps, which will ensure you delete any leftover files or damaged cache that may be affecting the app.

was this ever resolved? I'm having the same problem.

Not really.

I think the files might have some sort of DRM Protection, so they can't be played via Spotify. (at least some of the songs that can't be played were downloaded from YouTube)

 

Now I use VLC for my Playlist
