Spotify playlist image crops

Spotify playlist image crops

Trying to stop image being cropped.

500x500 px

The image to be uploaded format should it be 500x450? this may stop cropping of a square image.

Hi @phpnukes,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

The minimum dimensions of a playlist cover art should be 300x300 px and the file should not be larger than 4MB.

Hope this helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

The images I'm adding are over 1000 pixels each dimension, so that's not the issue. They're cropping no matter what dimensions they are if they're not square I guess... this is really frustrating. The auto-crop often chops off bandmembers' faces to the left or right. I'm not good at cropping images myself to make them square (removing part of the picture or adding blank space), and most other websites I use that let me upload pics have a feature to let me manually zoom or scale, or they auto-scale/crop smartly.

Why Spotify hasn't figured this out yet, I don't know. Maybe their developers could go see how Slack or Google profile avatar uploaders do it, because the source code is visible in HTML/JS/CSS.

Hi there @turquoxic,

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

Can you provide us a screenshot of the full picture and how it looks when you upload it so that we can have a closer look directly from your end?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Hi.  I can second this comment.  Uploading pictures to the Bio section 690 by 500 like you suggest.  They look fine on desktop but the mobile crops all the pictures.  Any suggestions?

Thanks
