My Question or Issue

Whenever I play any playlist, doesn't matter if it's a playlist that I created or one that I'm listening to that someone else made, Spotify will always play a song that isn't on my playlist after the first song has finished. (Meaning that if I start a playlist, the first song will play but the rest will be songs that I don't have in my playlist).

Example: I have a playlist with mostly the genre "shoegaze". I'm mentioning this because I've seen someone say that Spotify will play music that is similar. After playing the first song, the next one will always be a "hyperpop" song. If I recall, i have listened to some hyperpop songs only once like 2 weeks ago. (This is also when the problem started occuring). However I haven't favorited any song from the hyperpop genre. The problem started on my phone first, but I kind of managed to fix it, though I don't know what I did. It one day stopped playing hyperpop after the first song. However the problem is still there on my computer. And I also want to add that it's not only for the shoegaze playlist. If I play a rap playlist, a pop playlist, a rock playlist, the same thing happens every time. (I added this since when I asked someone they said that shoegaze and hyperpop are similar, even though that still shouldn't happen since the songs are NOT on my playlist) I hope someone can help me with this because I am stuck with either listening to music on Youtube, or having to manually play the next song in the playlist each time the current song ends. One last thing, I did already try to do every combination of the "shuffle" and "repeat" button just to see if that is the problem, which it wasn't. Whether repeat or shuffle are on or off, it doesn't matter, the hyperpop songs always plays after. And I still don't understand why it's hyperpop. It's not a genre that I hate, but I don't want to listen to hyperpop.

I tried to write as much information as possible just to try to avoid having to wait for someone to reply with a question.

Hey @6flip,

Thank you for taking the time to post all this detailed information to the Community.

First off, please try clearing your queue to make sure there are not added songs there. If the music still changes after this, try performing a clean reinstall of the app. It’s more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any saved cache that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't do the trick, please try accessing to the Web Player to know if it still happens there.

It's also worth securing your account against any potential unauthorized access. You can find the steps here

In case the issue persists, please send us a video recording showing exactly how everything happens. This will help us investigate further.

Keep us posted!

I looked in the queue and there was no songs there, I added one just to be sure and then cleared it and the problem was still there. Doing the clean reinstall fixed it though. Thanks
