Spotify switching to songs on other playlists

Spotify switching to songs on other playlists

I'm using Spotify Premium and whenever I play a specific playlist, after the first song it swaps to a different song on an entirely different playlist. I'm not sure why this is happening or how I can fix it.

After searching through some of the posts within this community I have tried:

  • cleared my song queue
  • cleared my Cache
Unfortunately didn't fix the issue.

Any other things I might of forgotten to check? I use Spotify daily and this has never happened before and it's getting really annoying.

Hey, @bozzabonnici
Welcome to the Spotify Community, and thanks for reaching out to us!

Have you checked if this is happening on other devices as well? If you use another device, such as a desktop, it's worth checking if there is a filled queue on there too.

I would also recommend that you try a fast reinstallation of the app on your device. Just take a look at this article below to get help about how to do it:

Let me know how it goes...

Stay awesome!

Hi @bozzabonnici, thanks for reaching out.

Does it happen when you use one particular device, or on all your devices?

This issue is generally caused by the Queue, so if it's not the case, my first suggestion is that you sign out and then back in.

Also, signing out from all devices can also help.

Let me know if that works!

Thanks Luan, I only use Spotify on my phone but have also cleared the queue from my PC desktop as well.

Seems deleting the app and reinstalling has fixed the problem.  I should of thought to do that too.

Thanks, I only use the one device (my phone) and occasionally the app on my PC.  Have tried signing out/in on both without any luck.

Perfect, @bozzabonnici! Glad to know that.

Keep in mind you can count on us, always, when necessary!

I'm having a similar problem.  I have the premium version and when I'm playing my "Liked Songs", Spotify will insert songs that they "recommend" randomly between songs on my list.  Did I accidently click on something to make that happen?  If not, I'm not really interested in songs they think I might like.  There is a reason I picked the songs in that list, and I don't want to have to listen to Spotify's suggestions.  There is a tab to click on to eliminate the particular suggested song while it's playing, but at times it's not really convenient for me to do that (like while driving).

Hey, @Eddie1438

It seems you activated the Smart Shuffle on the playback. This Spotify feature adds some related songs you may like to the current queue. You can deactivate it by tapping the Shuffle icon. You can find more information about it here in this support article:
