My Question or Issue

Like the title says... all of a sudden my custom playlist is being treated as a "radio" playlist. It's an extremely curated list - Christmas music. Christmas music shouldn't suddenly have NOT-Christmas music in it.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both versions of the app. What next??

Hi there @awolAD,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

Can you provide us the URI of the playlist so that we can have a closer look at it?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!

One example of a song playing that is definitely not part of this playlist is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten. Great song. But not for Christmas. The other was something from Louis Armstrong, but not one of his Christmas ones. Can't remember what the song was, but I imagine it got roped in because I do have "Zat you Santa Claus?" in there.

Hey @awolAD,

Thanks for your reply and the link you shared.

We've taken a look at your Black Friday Recovery playlist and we couldn't spot the "Fight Song" by Rachel Patten in there. Can you elaborate a bit on what do you mean by that songs are injected to the playlist, do you mean they appeared by themselves in the playlist (not added by you)?

Is it possible that you have used the Enhance () feature for this particular playlist? This feature really does inject song entries to your playlist, using an algorithm based on your already added content, plus taking into account your listening preferences. If this is the case then you can check if this is enabled and you can toggle the Enhance feature off and so the suggested songs will be removed from the playlist leaving it in it's original curated state.

We hope this helps. Let us know how things work out, we'll be keeping an eye out for your reply.

The enhance button on iOS is not selected. I haven't used this playlist from any of my iDevices. I do use the "continue playing" function for playlists, but I use the  I came across the error with both the Windows Store and Spotify site direct download. And no, "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten isn't in the playlist nor should it be.

Maybe I shouldn't use the word injected. It's not being added to the playlist. A different way to say it would be that while playing the playlist in "date added order" it suddenly played "Fight Song" by Rachel Patten about 15 songs in. It's more like if Radio was on, but rather than waiting for the playlist to be finished, it acts as though it's already on. It did this several times after restarting the playlist and skipping songs to get back to where it was. About 15 songs later, it would do it again. And once was with a non-Christmas Louis Armstrong song.

This is a playlist I have used for parties for a while now. I'm concerned if I use it for my party in a few weeks, it's going to do it, and I shouldn't have to worry about it. Hoping to get this resolved quickly. In the meantime, can I use the repeat playlist to avoid this? Or maybe turn Radio off AND repeat playlist?

Hi again @awolAD,

I’ve only been listening to the playlist on my PC.

Hi @awolAD,

Thank you for getting back in touch with us.

If it's possible, can you listen from a different device? This will help us understand if it's related to the device or the account.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Cheers!

I tried it with my iPhone yesterday, and it did not happen.

Hey @awolAD,

Thanks for the post.

In this case we'd recommend Logging out Everywhere and resetting the password on your account, because it sounds like your account might be logged in on a device, which other users have access to, like a home smart speaker.

Let us know if the issue continues on your desktop device after this.

Cheers.

I can confirm 100% that is not the case, but I’ll perform those actions and report back.
