Telling the reason why a song is unavailable besides from “this song is unavailable”

Telling the reason why a song is unavailable besides from “this song is unavailable”

It’s quite annoying when the play button is greyed out and when you click it it just says that the song is unavailable. I’m sorry, but WHY is it unavailable?

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community. We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

 

There are a few possible reasons as to why a song might show as grayed out and give an error when tried to be played.


First off, we'd recommend that you check if you've blocked this artist in the past. Go to the artist's name and click on the three dot menu. If you've blocked it - you'll see the option "Allow to play this artist" , tap on it and test again if you can play the songs. Please make sure to use mobile device while doing this. 

Another option is that the song you see is marked as Explicit and you have that type of content filtered off. You can read more about that here.

Lastly, it's possible that the song is marked as "Don't play this'' at some point - and if that's the case you can follow the steps here to unmark it.

Sorry, none of those things worked. I still don’t know why I can’t play it?
The song is Mirror, Sailboat if you need that information.
