[Web Player] Scrobble the correct album title to Last.fm when playing playlists

[Web Player] Scrobble the correct album title to Last.fm when playing playlists

I signed up for Spotify because of the advertised feature of it being able to scrobble to my Last.fm account. While it works, sort of, it fails to scrobble the title of the album for tracks played in a playlist, choosing rather to scrobble the name of the playlist instead of the name of the album. I then have to manually edit the entry on Last.fm to assign the correct album title.

I used to be subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited. They don't scrobble anything directly to Last.fm for me, so Spotify is an improvement over them in that way. But I was able to use a Chrome plugin to scrobble my Amazon plays to Last.fm. The problem in that situation, however, and the reason I went looking for another service, was that the plugin didn't always scrobble the correct info for a track, often using the name of the playlist as the album name, the same issue I'm having on Spotify now. I'm on the free trial of Spotify Premium currently, and while I appreciate not having to worry with a browser plugin to do my scrobbling, I still really really really want to find some service that will scrobble the album title correctly, whether I play an individual album or a playlist.

My free trial of Spotify Premium ends in mid May. If something changes between now and then and the scrobble of album titles starts working correctly, I'll be glad to continue my subscription. If it isn't working, I'll be looking elsewhere for satisfaction. I don't know if I'll find any service that satisfies me, but there are lots of streaming services still to try, and even if none of them scrobble directly to Last.fm for me like Spotify does, if any of them work the way I want with the Chrome plugin, that will be the service I stick with. Cheers!
