What happened to Multi-select in Desktop

What happened to Multi-select in Desktop

I'm seeing a number of articles going back to 2017, but I recall being able to multi-select (Shift+Select or Ctrl+Select or Ctrl+Shift) like a standard file system, applied to songs, podcasts, etc. to operate on them all at once (move, delete).

This is such a critical feature in library management (granted, that's just one facet of Spotify), so I'm having a difficult time believing it's not an issue on my end. Can someone please clarify? I do see that there was some work in that regard for the mobile app (https://community.spotify.com/t5/Implemented-Ideas/Mobile-Multi-Select-Add-Remove-Songs-from-Music-Q...) but it was only for queuing.

Thanks!

Hey @warrnmtl! Thanks for reaching out!

Can you check if you’re using the latest version of Spotify for Desktop? I gave it a try on my end and couldn’t replicate the issue — even using Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Shift, or Ctrl+Select, everything’s working fine. You can see it in the screenshot I attached here:

If you’d like, feel free to send over a screenshot or a quick video so we can take a closer look at what’s happening on your side. Also, don’t forget to include the make and model of your device, along with the OS and the Spotify version you’re using.

Let me know how it goes!
