My Question or Issue
I just found an amazing feature on Spotify called "add to different playlist" Where you can duplicate a playlist that you like then add more songs to it. I used it to make a playlist, then I tried to make a different playlist using that feature and it was gone. That's weird. What happened?
Hey @DoomNation,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
Could you please let us know if you have smart shuffle or enhance enabled?
On another note, we'd like to know what type of playlists you tried this with? Were they Spotify created playlists or the ones created by you?
We'll be on the lookout for your update.
thanks for getting back to me.
Occasionally
might use enhance. I rarely if ever use shuffle. I notice the add to another playlist feature is there on the updated UI which comes and goes. When the app loads to the old one that feature isn’t there but at least I still have the playlist radio, which is such a tremendous feature. This new playlist feature is great though.
Hey @DoomNation,
Thanks for your feedback.
The feature you're referring to in your original message is called Create similar playlist. It should still be available for your own playlists in the desktop app and in the web player.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you have other questions.
Thanks again for the reply. I know the feature that you are speaking of. This one is different. It’s literally called “Add to Other Playlist” . I see it right now cause it switched to the new UI again. It’s all good because once it switches back to the old UI I can go back to the playlist radio 🙂
is the original playlist creator notified when you add their playlist to your playlist?
Hey @kayleexgrace,
Thank you for your reply in this thread.
Spotify won't notify the creator when someone adds the playlist they've created to their own. So, for example, let's say you were browsing through a friend's playlist on their profile and happen to like it so much that you add it to your own playlist. Your friend won't get a notification about this, so no worries there!
Hope you find this useful. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
Cheers!
Same thing happening to me since last year, my operating system is also android 10 oreo. The "Add to Other Playlist " option only pops up for few minutes after I re-log in my account. It'll only appear again after I log in&out my account, Once I leave the app and open it again the UI will back to the old one and the "Add to Other Playlist" option was gone too.
Hey @jowee,
Thanks for joining the thread! This sounds like an issue that can be troubleshooted.
First, we recommend logging out > logging back in twice in a row (instead of just once). It sounds a bit odd, but this helps resync your account and the app.
If the issue persists, could you try with a different account (a friend's or a relative's for example) on the same device and then even on another device with your account?
Keep us in the loop 🙂
