What is the Spotify URI for my Liked Songs?

Solved!

What is the Spotify URI for my Liked Songs?

I am trying to automate my Spotify app on Android. I am able to open playlists by passing the Spotify URI (spotify:playlist:{playlistId}) to the app. I want to do it with my Liked Songs/all songs from my library, but there is no Share button on Liked Songs so I can't find the playlist ID. Can someone point me to the right direction?

Hi @deeeeekun,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

Unfortunately, the Liked Songs playlist isn’t currently shareable; so there isn’t a way to copy its URI.

However, there is currently a Live Idea in the Idea Exchange for making the Liked Songs playlist shareable. If this is something you’re interested in, I would recommend adding your +VOTE to this idea (even though its current Status is “Not Right Now”). The more votes an idea gets, the likelier it is that Spotify will implement it, and you can read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.

In case it’s of use, the link https://open.spotify.com/collection/tracks takes me to Liked Songs when I copy and paste it into “Search” on an iOS device; though not being a URI, it may not be of help for your automation process.

If you have the desktop app as well, you could alternatively create a duplicate playlist of your Liked Songs by holding Ctrl + A (command + A on a Mac) within your Liked Songs to select all the tracks, and then right-clicking and selecting “Add to playlist” to add them to a new playlist. As a normal playlist, this way you would be able to copy its Spotify URI.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

Thank you for your response! I'll upvote the idea and try to use the URL in the meantime.

Hey @deeeeekun,

I came across the same issue and found a workaround for it.

You can use IFTTT to save any new songs from your 'Liked Songs' to a public playlist, from which you can then grab a URI.

I've made the IFTTT applet public, so you can start from there: https://ift.tt/Giluvy9

Cheers,

Andi

Forgot to mention, in the desktop app, you can drag and drop all the existing songs from your Liked Songs playlist into your new public playlist, as the applet will only add songs liked after it’s activated.
