Hey there!

It sounds like the playlist may have been set to private. Have the owner set the playlist to public, and resend you the collaborator link.

Thanks for the suggestion, kaworu.  Eevryone else in my group is using the same link and are not having trouble with it, but I've forwarded your response to the owner just in case.

Hi there, I have the same problem but the creator of the playlist wants to keep it private, not make it public. Others are opening it up with no problems. Please help! Wonderland_2017

Hey @Wonderland_2017,

Thanks for reaching out!

They should be able to share the playlist with you, while still keeping it private. Could you ask the playlist owner to send you a new link to gain access? They can get the link directly from the app and then share it with you. Just keep in mind that shared links expire after 7 days. Once you're following the playlist, you'll see their profile image at the top of the playlist next to yours.

You can also try opening the link from another device or using a different network, should you still have issues.

Another option is that they invite you as a collaborator in stead. This way, it will remain private, but you'll also be able to add songs to the playlist and edit it. You can ask the playlist creator to check the steps on this page to see how to invite you.

We hope this helps! Cheers.

I am the creator of a playlist and I have made my friend a collaborator. He is now having trouble sharing the playlist with others. The playlist is public, but the person he is trying to share the playlist with sees a "Page not available" screen saying "Unable to claim permission." Since I made the playlist, am I the only one who can share this playlist with others?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!

The collaborators in the playlist can also share it with others, but they will only be able to view its contents. Only you as the playlist's creator can invite other users as collaborators. More info here.

Is the goal here to add others as collaborators? If so, it's possible that the error message comes up since your friend is sending an expired invite link. In that case, you'll need to generate a new one, as you're the playlist's creator.

Note: Invite links expire after 7 days.

If users run into some issues with opening the link, you can ask them to try and open the link from another device or paste it directly in the app's search bar.

Hope this info helps. Cheers 🤘
