Why won’t played songs be kept as downloaded?

My Question or Issue

I have the option to download songs only on WiFi BUT if a song is played (= temporary download) why wouldn’t it be kept as downloaded when marked for download?

If we understand the situation well, it looks like your downloads are not keeping stored on your app as it should. So first, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. Keep in mind that this process will clear all downloads and you'll have to redownload your content to listen to it offline.

If the issue persists, or if it's a different issue, include in your next response more details about it, along with the Spotify version you're currently running on your device to continue investigating the case.
