add songs to a public playlist without having account

My Question or Issue

I created a public playlist and sahred them with friend so they can add a song. But this doesn't work. Nobody is a spotify member.

How can users without an account add songs to a public playlist?

I tried it with myself by sending the link to me. If I click on the link the playlist opens, but if I choose a song and want to add it, I have only the option to create a new list. There is no possibility to choose the playlist where I'm currently in.

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, it's not possible to add songs to a playlist without being logged into a Spotify account, even if it's a public playlist.

Please be assured that Free users are also able to add songs to a playlist, I'd suggest that your friends sign up for a Free Spotify account so that they can be part of your playlists as well. They can find more information about this process on this page.
