artists and albums in "local files" not showing up in artists and albums lists

artists and albums in "local files" not showing up in artists and albums lists

I just switched from Google Play Music to Spotify premium. I have an extensive collection of music that I ripped from CDs. When I added my library to GPM back in the day, it automatically sorted everything into "artist" and "album" subsections, which was very convenient and intuitive. No such luck with Spotify...those sections are empty, and "Local files" is just a very long list of songs. It is nice that this list can be sorted but kind of tedious to have to scroll through 5000+ songs to find the album I want. Is there a way to automatically add all of the artists and albums in my library to the dedicated "Artists" and "Albums" lists on Spotify?  Or do I have to manually follow all of those artists to get their music to show up outside of "Local files"? If it is the latter, this is actually a more obnoxious organization scheme than Youtube Music.

Hey there @unusualcoconut!

Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry for the delay!

Right now when you upload files to the app they show up in the Local files tab in Your Library and you can choose to add them to your playlists.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and we can see how that can be a handy feature to have them sync automatically. We recommend suggesting it on our Ideas board so that it could get support from other users as well. Take a look at this page to see how to post an Idea.

If you're interested in how ideas work and how your feedback reaches the right teams here, check this page out.

Hope this info helps. We'll be here if there's anything else we could do for you!
