When the album finishes, no random song starts to play

Make sure you have updated to the latest version of spotify, and make sure any songs whether from your playlist or other albums are in your cue.  You must train the Algorithm to your preferences again this year.

Check settings. Under your user profile. If Autoplay is turned on.

I think it matters if you're paid user- you don't get a choice if free account. 

This is a good thing, so you don't have to listen to Spotify-selected nonsense to inflate certain artists' play count.

As the previous user mentioned, please be sure to check your queue to make sure something random is playing there. You can also try enabling the smart Shuffle option to ensure something is playing.
