not getting notification of songs already in playlist

not getting notification of songs already in playlist

All of a sudden Spotify is not telling me when songs are already in a playlist. I used to get a pop up when trying to add a song already in a play list but now it just adds them. Any ideas? This is happening on my andriod app and on desktop windows.

Hi there @rooksieroo,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:

  • When did this start happening?
  • Does this happen across all playlists, including newly created ones?
  • A video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.

Keep us posted.

This has recently started... I am also facing same problem.. If one song is in my playlist and I am adding it again, Spotify is not alerting me that song is already in Playlist.. In Earlier versions, Spotify used to alert that Song is already in Playlist... and used to ask whether to add again or not

Hi there @ravijain2005,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

If a particular song has already been added to one of your playlists, it will have a green check mark icon . What device are you using? Have you tested if the issue occurs on another device you're logged in to?

Keep in mind that some songs might have been uploaded multiple times (as a single, as part of an album or a compilation, etc.) and each upload has a unique identifier on Spotify called URI. There's a live idea about consolidate duplicate tracks with different URIs which you may find interesting, so feel free to check it out and give it a thumbs up to show your support.

In any case, a short screen recording which captures the described behavior in action would be greatly appreciated. That way, we can take a direct look at what's happening on your end.

Cheers 🤘
