My Question or Issue
Hi since spotify discontinued the previous desktop client I was forced to update to the new version, although dissatisfied with it. However, looking past the points raised by other people already, I would really like a way to remove podcast suggestions. Surprisingly, this is now on the top row of the desktop client. There should be more ways to control what appears at the top of the client when you open it up. Specifically a way to remove podcast suggestions, since I believe many people, like me, do not have an interest in whatever podcasts you are trying to promote to us.
thank you!
Hey @vin_sychem,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
It's currently not possible to remove items from your Home screen, however, it seems like the Community folks have already created an Idea about being able to disable or hide podcasts entirely. If you'd like to see that option available, go ahead and check this idea here.
While there's currently no way to customize your start screen, we'd suggest you give this idea a thumbs up, if this is something you'd like to see implemented in the future. Please note that even if an idea is currently set to “Not Right Now” you can still add your vote there as we revisit those ideas on regular intervals!
If you're interested in how ideas work and how your feedback reaches the right teams here, check this page out.
Hope this helps. If you ever have any other questions in the future, feel free to post in the Community again 🙂
Then why do we pay for things we don't want?
I listened to a couple of **bleep** ed podcasts and now **bleep** themed audio is all over my home page. I don't want my kids to see it. There should be a way to hide or delete things you've listened to or things that are suggested to you.
Honest question, but can we get some UI changes that actually benefit the average user?
why cant i remove audiobooks and podcast from my homepage? i dont use spotify for those things and its in the way?
why is my home page filled with suggested content that i cant provide negative feedback on? whole albums and artists that i dont care for are on my home page every week, while new music from artist i actually follow does't even appear on my new releases.
Im totally down for spotify to expand its services, im just asking that you offer them instead of shove them in our face with no ability to provide feedback (down vote, etc) outside of coming here to do this.
(im so sick of so many great apps getting shittier over time - it doesnt have to be that way)
