My Question or Issue
The scroll bar that appears on the right side of the screen when you scroll down fast isn't there anymore, which is very unfortunate for me since I have almost 5,000 liked songs. I've performed a clean reinstall of the app and updated it to the latest version and the scroll bar still isn't there and I can't find anything else to try.
Yep, same thing just started happening to me too today. Noticed it this morning during my shift. Signing in and out of the app restores it but also seems to downgrade the app which is pretty weird. Really obnoxious bug since I use my liked songs when I go offline. Got a long plain ride tomorrow, gonna be just a little annoying. Please fix
Same here
Hey folks,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
@carolieb27, could you try logging out and then logging back in twice in a row? We know it sounds odd, but this will trigger a sync between your account and device. If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your device to check if they can replicate this with a different account?
@ifwjayson, @xlesif, first up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. If the issue persists afterwards, could you check if the OS of your devices has any pending updates? We'd also like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
This has been happening to me and I have an iPhone 12 and Spotify is fully updated and I’ve restarted my phone. It’s been happening to me since the most recent update.
Glad to see it’s not just me! I’ve tried updating them resetting my Spotify app and it’s gone, annoyingly. All other playlist sliders still work, but not on the Liked Songs playlist. For a playlist with 1’600 songs, it’s quite annoying.
I tried everything you had suggested before ever posting. Needless to say, none of it works. It all started happening before I updated. Tried to download the update to see if it would fix and it did not. Tried a reinstall, still no luck. Checked on my girlfriends spotify, same thing. She signed in on my sccount. Same thing. Asked some of my friends. Same thing. This seems to be a pretty widespread issue.
Hi, I logged back in out and twice and it seemed to work! Thanks so much for the help.
Hi, so I logged in and out twice and it seemed to work! The scroll bar was back, however it seemed to revert back to an earlier version, with the heart instead of the plus (which i don’t mind), but the lyrics for songs also weren’t showing up. Even more oddly, when I turned my phone off and then back on (I was asleep) and opened back again it was back to no scroll bar but lyrics. I logged back in and out again twice and the scroll bar came back but the lyrics disappeared. It seems like I can’t have both (scroll bar and lyrics). Do you know anything else I could try?
I have the same problem on my iPhone 12. I tried logging out and back in and it worked, but when I opened the app later that day it was still missing(the scroll bar). I reinstalled the app twice but it still didn’t work. It’s pretty annoying to scroll manually through your songs, especially if you have thousands of songs in your playlist. Please, fix! Thank you!
Hey folks,
Thanks for bringing this to out attention.
We'd like to investigate this further. That being said, could you make sure to provide us with the following details (feel free to use this as a template):
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Iphone 11
iOS 16.6.1
Spotify App 8.8.70.643
Already performed a clean reinstall and logged in and out twice (logging in and out twice fixed the scroll bar but caused some other issues).
iPhone 14 Pro
iOS 17.0.1
Spotify ver 8.8.72.623
i have tried logging in and logging. Reinstalling the app. I have also tried restoring my phone to factory settings and still missing the scrollbar. Logging and logging out twice caused the scroller to reappear temporarily but if I closed the app and came back it would disappear. It also seemed to restore the app to an older version? Can tell because the heart icon appears to like songs instead of a plus symbol.
iPhone 13 Pro Max
ios: 17.0.2
spotify version: 8.8.75.709
I did all the troubleshooting steps.
Logging out and back in brings back an old version of the app (where the heart was still a thing) and I get the scroll bar back, once I close the app and open it again it updates and my scroll bar is once again… gone.
Hey everyone,
Our tech team has done some changes backstage, so this should be fixed in an upcoming version of the app. In the meantime, make sure to keep Spotify updated.
Let us know if everything looks good once the app updates to version 8.8.76.
Cheers!
Same here. It's very annoying. I have a lot of songs on Liked songs playlist 😓
