Hello @yen
You can share and edit a playlist with your friends. Just follow the steps below.
Just make sure your friend already has followed your playlist if you were the creator of the playlist.
Create a Collaborative Playlist
In this example, we’ll be creating a new playlist designed for our upcoming “party”:
After the playlist has been created, right click on it in the sidebar and choose the option for a “Collaborative Playlist”.
If the process was successful, the new collaborative playlist will be denoted by a small circle seen just above the playlist’s name in your sidebar that looks something like this: .
Invite and Share With Your Friends
To invite new users to add their own songs, right-click on the playlist one more time, and open up the share prompt by clicking the “Share” option.
Once here, you can either add friends from your Spotify account, or if your Facebook handle is attached, anyone who’s linked to that account.
After it’s been shared, anyone with access will now have the option to add, delete, or modify the order of any songs contained within that specific playlist!
Please like this post and mark as a solution If I could help you 🙂
Thanks! it worked!
Happy to help.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Hi,
it looks that the client design has changed a lot since the last entry. I don't find that "share" menu anymore, there's only static buttons for sharing via fb, messenger, twitter etc, but no way to share with spotify users.
Please update help topic to current client versions, thanks.
I want to create a playlist where only Spotify users I’ve approved can add songs and have that playlist be public. But again, not just anyone should be able to add songs. Feels like an obvious feature that’s missing...
Yes. You mark it collaborative.
I don't see the option to make my playlist collaborative. What am I doing wrong?
Hey @cmd21,
Thanks for joining the thread!
The option to make one of your playlists into a Collaborative one should be visible in the menu shown in the screenshot.
It doesn't currently show up in the Web Player, but it should be visible in the apps.
If you're facing the same issue when using the app, we suggest logging out of Spotify and then logging back in.
If the issue persists afterwards, we'd advise you to perform a clean reinstall of the app.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
Let us know if further questions arise.
Cheers!
