3G data when offline

3G data when offline

All of my playlists are synced into offline mode, and I always do this when I have wifi connection.  However, i have Spotify Premium which I always use in my car, when i don't currently have wifi.  I have 2 gb of data per month for 3G data use.

Does my listening to songs in playlists that are synced in offline mode  while using 3G, and not on wifi, count towards my overall use of 3G data?  Will i be charged overages for this?

Hey! 🙂

Listening to songs that are synced in an offline playlist should not use any of your data allowance to stream tracks. It might however use a tiny amount if you have last.fm scrobbling or other features enabled, but the amount will be very small.

Yes. It downloads the songs anyway even if you put a playlist as 'available offline'.

One trick is to manually put the app in offline mode to force to use the local songs instead of streaming them. But it's not really convenient to use the app in offline mode.

Verified with a data usage checker. Every synced song played : 4-5 mb download. I did this verification after exceeding my data limit with my carrier 1.5 Go. oÔ Yeah that escalated quickly..
