My Question or Issue

I've been a Spotify Premium user for a good amount of time now but since the last ~ two months I am experiencing increasing issues when listening to music on my iPhone/iPad using AirPods (2nd gen non-pro). Whenever I decide to listen to some music, connect my AirPods (simply put them in my ears) and open Spotify, I can see the green Bluetooth symbol with the name of my AirPods next to it (thus, they are connected and Spotify sees them). But once I press play, the song starts but I can hear no music.

As I experience this issue for a long time already, I found out that I will have to close Spotify completely, disable Bluetooth, put my AirPods back into their case and then connect them again. It mostly works the second time. Once I get Spotify to output music through the AirPods, it works perfectly fine for the rest of the session.

Needless to say, this really drives me nuts. I recently reset my phone and reinstalled Spotify but the issue persists. What else can I try? I am really tired of this 😞

Hi there @jnsdrtlf,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Can you try the following: disconnect the AirPods on your iPhone by going to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the "i" icon next to your AirPods > Tap Forget This Device, and tap again to confirm.

Once you do that, restart the phone. After you have restarted it, go ahead and connect your AirPods again following these steps

Hope this helps 🙂

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cheers.
