My Question or Issue

 

 

I’ve been having a weird slew of issues that have been compounding recently. 

 

It started a few months ago with my phone running extremely slowly after having Spotify on for a while (I sleep with music on every day). When I try to respond to a text or anything, every tap on the screen was delayed by several seconds. The problem would be solved by double pressing the Home button, holding down the app for a few seconds and SLOWLY swiping up to close the app. This entire process would take sometimes as long as 2 minutes to unlock the phone and close the app. Then, a few seconds after closing the app, my phone would go back to normal. 

After a while, the problem got worse. The music would suddenly start getting EXTREMELY choppy and causing the same slow-down of my entire phone. Closing the app would fix it, for a time. 

Then, my app would just start crashing entirely. I would wake up to no music playing. Sometimes it would play fine for 8+ hours. Sometimes it would be off within an hour. I couldn’t find any pattern to why it would happen. 

Recently, another issue has arisen. When I press the play button (shuffled or not), it will sometimes play the first song twice, then skip the second song entirely. This one isn’t quite as annoying, but still strange. 

All of these issues have happened both while connected to a Bluetooth speaker and while playing through my phone speaker. 

 

Then finally, a few days ago, the app crashed about 5 times before it would even finish playing an entire song. This happened while connected to my car Bluetooth. 

 

 

I tried deleting the app, signing out on every device, clearing my Safari cache on my phone, restarting my phone, then reinstalling the app. It didn’t seem to help. 

I usually play music in offline mode. I tried playing it online, which seemed to help for a few days, but quickly went back to having the same problem.

In case none of the troubleshooting steps you've tried did the trick it's possible you've encountered an Ongoing Issue that we're currently investigating. Take a look at this  thread and add your vote by clicking on the +VOTE button. Make sure you follow the steps under Status Update as well. 

 

It'll also be useful to Subscribe via the three-dots menu in the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up to date with any relevant updates about this.
